Walter is a guy who absolutely loves what he does. He serves as the chief designer for Johnson Architects and is constantly working on our projects to make them better. He holds himself to an incredibly high standard and seeks to provide the absolutely very best design for our clients.

He has an incredible ability to absorb the esoteric nature of building program needs and translate them into a format that is not only visually striking, but nails the use requirements of the space.  All of this captured within the economy of the budget and practical construction methodology. He does this through careful listening to our client’s vision and solving the design problem through frequent communication.

Walter also serves as our chief land planner and specializes in Traditional New Developments (TND) integrating residential, mixed-use, office and commercial buildings into one development.  Walter is highly effective with governing jurisdictions during the entitlement process and has the unique ability to bring all parties to a common understanding.

Walter is originally from San Diego and moved to the Boise area in 1994. He and his wife Vicki love to travel internationally and in turn enjoy hosting teenage international exchange students during the school year.
